Winton Scholar and NanoDTC student

Supervisors: Professor Henning Sirringhaus and Professor Clare Grey

Optoelectronics Group and Grey Group

Biography:

Tarig graduated from the University of Manchester having studied for a BEng in Electronic Engineering and received the IET Prize 2019 for graduating top in school. As part of his UK Electronics Skills Foundation (UKESF) scholarship and degree, Tarig underwent a year in industry working as an embedded software engineer for Renesas Electronics Europe Ltd. Tarig first became interested in nanotechnology research after working on a Graphene-enabled Micro-(Opto-)Electro-Mechanical-Systems project with his first year supervisor, Dr Tim Echtermeyer.

Research Interests

To develop fundamental understanding of the mechanisms for electron and nuclear spin relaxation in organic semiconductors as well as to develop methods for characterising the coupling between electron and nuclear spins in these materials.
