Invited Speakers

Professor Howard Wilson - Director of the York Plasma Institute and Fusion Centre for Doctoral Training, Department of Physics, University of York, who has been recently appointed as the Programme Director of the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA).

Professor Katsuhiko Hirose -  Professional Partner, Toyota Motor Corporation and WPI Visiting Professor, International Institute for Carbon Neutral Energy Research, Kyushu University, Japan.  Manager for Toyota’s first Prius hybrid vehicle, where he was responsible for fuel economy and emissions.

Professor David Larbalestier - Director of the Applied Superconductivity Center, National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Florida State University.  The Laboratory operates superconducting magnets at some of the highest possible fields in the world.

Dr Munaf Rahimo - Corporate Executive Engineer, Grid Systems, ABB Switzerland.  ABB is a world leader in supplying products, systems and service solutions  across the power value chain of generation, transmission and distribution, with active research in semiconductors for power electronics. 

Professor Rosa Palacín -  Institut de Ciencia de Materials de Barcelona, CSIC and co-Director Alistore ERI (European battery network).  Her research focus is on rechargeable battery materials including alternatives to Li-ion.

Professor David Greenwood - Lead, Advanced Propulsion Systems, The Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of Warwick. WMG covers a wide remit within Energy Storage (Battery Systems); Energy Conversion (Electric Machines; Power Electronics); and Energy Management.
