Research

My research aims to study fundamental aspects of energy transfer and sensing in biological and biomimetic systems. Examples include fluorescent proteins, molecular aggregates and DNA-bound chromophores. Understanding the energy landscapes of these systems will pave the way to developing improved functional materials e.g. for the measurement of cellular membrane potential.
